10 Terrible Movies Everybody Loves

3. Troll 2

Troll 2
Filmirage

Troll 2 is not a sequel to the original Troll and merely wanted to use the name to cheekily try to get noticed. It did just that, in the long run, but for all the wrong reasons.

This ungodly mess of a film’s problems stem from being made by an Italian crew filming in America with very little actual English to direct their stars. “Stars” might be a very generous term considering the vast majority of Troll 2’s cast just so happened to be residents of the closest towns.

Poor them then for being roped into what is often called “the worst movie of all time” but mazel tov to Jason Wright who became a meme by belting out the incredible line “they’re eating her and then they’re going to eat me, oh my God”. Cinematic perfection.

With producer Joe D’Amato intent on spending as little money as possible, you can pretty much tell where this is going from the very first scene. The cast had no idea what was being asked of them, the film has consistently terrible effects work and the plot - which centres on Goblins turning humans into vegetables to eat them - sounds like it came from the fever dream of a sugared up seven year old.

Naturally, this level of schlock, and not to mention the backstory for it, brought out the internet’s love of terrible media and Troll 2 has become a cult film because of it.
