10 Terrible Sequels To Awesome Films That We Wish Didn't Exist

1. Highlander II: The Quickening

highlander 2Highlander was a great film about a Scotsman who discovered he was one of the last immortals and had to go up against the monstrous Kurgan in a final battle to determine which Immortal would be victorious. That was the plot. A great tale with a cracking soundtrack by Queen. Sean Connery to offer sage advice (before the Kurgan kills him off. A tragic love story (Connor MacLeod€™s wife dies of old age while he stays young). Majestic Scottish highlands. Brilliant sword fights and a nasty villain. But in the end, it was done. There was nothing more to tell€ Except Highlander II: The Quickening came about. The plot goes something like this... The immortals were actually aliens. Christopher Lambert's MacLeod and Sean Connery's Ramirez build a giant shield around the Earth in 2024 after the Ozone is destroyed. The immortals saved the planet, only MacLeod is no longer immortal and something needs to be done to save humanity... Perhaps the most bizarre and frankly unwanted spin on an original plot ever. Immortals are cool. There was a mystery about them. Having them turn out to be aliens was plain stupid. This may be one of the worst sequels ever. And yet the series kept going. (And I've seen Highlander 5 that wasn't even released in the UK. I have no idea what I was thinking...) So do you agree with the list? Are you actually quite fond of the films I have presented? Or are there sequels that are far worse than anything in this article?
