7. Hostel Part III
The Hostel films have always been controversial and form part of the 'torture-porn' genre that surfaced at the beginning half of the twenty-first century. These new and provocative films weren't to everyone's taste, but they pushed boundaries and that should be commended. The second sequel to the franchise did not receive a theatrical release and it is easy to see why. The new cast of twenty-somethings on a road trip (this time set in America rather than Eastern Europe) lack the acting talent that would at least save the movie from bargain bucket quality. Providing nothing new, this simple rehash of what has been done before is poor quality with nothing from the previous films remaining. Gone is Eli Roth's dark and twisted visuals that had the possibility to scare and in are casino lights and cheap CGI.
Why it's in the top 10: Less style and less substance. Instantly forgettable. Stick to the first two for your late-night shocks.
