10 Terrible Third Acts That Ruined Recent Movies

6. Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania

The third Ant-Man movie isn't a great or even particularly good film any way you slice it, and that was truly hammered home during its absolute cluster headache of a finale.

The movie's already muddy, sludge-like visual palette reaches a nauseating crescendo during the noisy, exhausting climax, where all manner of mayhem goes down and yet so little of it is either interesting or even basically aesthetically appealing to observe.

Though Jonathan Majors gives a solid performance as Kang, the third act desperately needed to cement him as a palpable threat. Instead, that finale made the MCU's next apparent Big Bad come off as strangely under-powered and, ultimately, a bit of a chump who got bested by Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) at the end.

Sure, there are theoretically endless variants of Kang for the MCU's finest to battle in the future, but maybe don't make versions of him look like a goober upfront, no?

Couple this with Darren Cross aka M.O.D.O.K.'s (Corey Stoll) embarrassing face turn and a "funny" final scene that falls totally flat, and Quantumania is a mediocre offering which becomes a genuine bust after failing to bring its disparate parts into harmonious unison by the end.
