4. Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace
We know that we are trawling old ground with this one so there is no need to go into Universally panned, there is no doubt that Star Wars Episode one was the biggest disappointment in cinema history for a huge number of fans. With a weak script, no story, bad pacing, poor/no character development and special effects that took the grit right out of everything in the film, very few found positives for this one. Despite that, we all had that feeling, that nagging instinct to go to it, to see what George Lucas had in store for us. After all, it didnt look that bad from the trailers and the music and Lightsabers were awesome anyway so how were we supposed to know the horror to come. No surprise then that it took over $1 billion in its cinematic run. Charmless, sexless, passionless and robot-humoured, it's preposterously uninvolving.
