10 Terrifying Horror Films That Exploit Your Everyday Fears

2. Fear Of Being Lost - In Fear (2013)

Anyone who€™s driven in the country knows that merely trying to navigate those winding, narrow roads is a nightmare in and of itself. But what if there was something out there, too? Something out to get you, when you€™re far away from home. Something that doesn€™t just want to hurt you, but to frighten you out of your wits, too. We spend most of the film sat in a cramped coupe with the two leads (Iain De Caestecker and Alice Englert), watching them spiral into a panic as they try fruitlessly to find their secluded hotel in rural Ireland and night begins to fall around them. Tight camera work and great acting means that we€™re right alongside them on their journey, with the feeling of being lost and trapped and frightened heightening with each passing moment. You€™ll be screaming for them to get out of the car €“ until you find yourself screaming for them to get back in.
