10 Terrifying Horror Films That Exploit Your Everyday Fears
2. Fear Of Being Lost - In Fear (2013)
Anyone whos driven in the country knows that merely trying to navigate those winding, narrow roads is a nightmare in and of itself. But what if there was something out there, too? Something out to get you, when youre far away from home. Something that doesnt just want to hurt you, but to frighten you out of your wits, too. We spend most of the film sat in a cramped coupe with the two leads (Iain De Caestecker and Alice Englert), watching them spiral into a panic as they try fruitlessly to find their secluded hotel in rural Ireland and night begins to fall around them. Tight camera work and great acting means that were right alongside them on their journey, with the feeling of being lost and trapped and frightened heightening with each passing moment. Youll be screaming for them to get out of the car until you find yourself screaming for them to get back in.
