10 Terrifying Horror Films You’ve Probably Never Seen
9. Bad Match (2017)
Bad Match is one of those typical under-the-radar horrors which can be found buried within the menus of Netflix or NOW TV, which would leave most to believe it would be average at best. However, when watched, Bad Match reveals a strong, well-acted slow burner of a horror movie, which feels all too real in the modern world of dating and technology. The film stars Jack Cutmore-Scott as a Hugh Heffner wannabe who uses girls for sex and ghosts them.
At the start, ol’ Heff Junior comes across as purposefully unlikeable. However, with the introduction of a supposed femme fatale played my Lili Simmons, Heff quickly finds his life tipped upside down and his world (and mind) crumble around him.
Bad Match is a patient picture which appears to start with harmless coincidences and slowly cascades into unsettling real territory, with the protagonist being tormented in very real ways, such as being hacked in very shocking and disturbing ways. By the end, the film does such a good job in flipping the entire premise on its head and leaving those watching gasping at the well-earned finale.
