10 Terrifying Horror Movie Deaths You Don't Remember

8. Jonah - The Green Inferno

Upon bursting on the scene with Cabin Fever in 2002, Eli Roth quickly carved a name for himself as a filmmaker who forever likes to bring plentiful gore to the fore.

Of course, that reputation was only further enhanced by a couple of Hostel pictures, before Roth then delivered The Green Inferno in 2013. An homage to cannibal pictures of decades past - most notably Ruggero Deodato's Cannibal Holocaust - it's fair to say that The Green Inferno certainly split opinion upon its release.

Here, a group of environmental activists wind up stranded in Peru after their airplane crash-lands in the jungle. Quicker than you can say "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" - apt, because one of the protagonists is the daughter of a bigwig United Nations official - our core crew of characters run afoul of a tribe of cannibals.

From this point, all bets are off on just how gruesome things get, with the fate of Lars - waking up to find himself being eaten alive by a group of stoned locals - a particular standout. The most disturbing death of this picture, though, involves Aaron Burns' Jonah.

One of the first significant kills of The Green Inferno, Jonah is perfectly(?) used to give an example of what the film's Headhunters are capable of. For the unfortunate lad, he has his eyes removed, his tongue pulled out, is dismembered, then decapitated, and his flesh ends up being eating by the locals.
