10 Theories For How Deadpool Could Join MCU
1. Deadpool Becomes A Supporting Character
There's no denying that the first two Deadpool movies were massive box office hits, but if the character's R-Rated adventures aren't going to fit in Disney's PG-13 vision for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, perhaps Marvel Studios would be better off not watering down his solo franchise?
In the comic books, Deadpool is often at his best as a supporting character, and that's a role he could fill nicely in this shared world, giving other franchises a rub in the process. He could be part of a series of X-Force movies - based on Rick Remender's run, we hope - or a supporting player in a new Wolverine movie, there are ways the Merc with the Mouth could be used that doesn't include a Deadpool 3.
That would almost certainly disappoint some fans, but it's not like the Deadpool movies were groundbreaking masterpieces, and the second instalment definitely felt like a retread in some ways. For a while at least, having the character play a secondary role in any number of franchises might be the best possible use for Wade Wilson in the MCU.
