3. An Inability To Kill Key Characters
Marvel StudiosThor, Iron Man, Phil Coulson, Nick Fury, Professor Xavier, Sue Storm and Loki are just a small selection of the characters who, at one point or another, have appeared to perish, only to be revealed to still be alive - whether it be in the same film or in another source months later. The problem that this inability to permanently kill key characters creates amongst audience is the removal of the "edge-of-your-seat" element that adds so much to any given movie. Fans feel "safe" watching Marvel movies and, as a result, the movies in question are becoming too predictable. The permanent death of a major character would really stir things up and show that Marvel have the balls to take risks - and it would genuinely leave audiences wondering how each film is going to end, which would add a lot to the movie experience.
