10 Things Batman Movies Have Never Gotten Right About The Dark Knight

5. The Importance Of Alfred

In everything but genetics (unless you believe the theories that state otherwise), Alfred Pennyworth is Bruce Wayne's father.

The man raised Bruce since he was eleven years old and supported him through everything from Thomas and Martha's deaths to his decision to become a Bat.

It's taken years for creators to realise this significance, yet fortunately recent years have seen somewhat of an Alfre-naissance within Batman comics. The character is finally receiving the attention and recognition he deserves, with Scott Snyder's All-Star Batman featuring a story that explores Alfred's SAS years and Batman: White Knight seeing Batman go to extreme lengths after Pennyworth is taken ill.

It's about time movie creators come to the same realisation and bring the Alfre-naissance to the mainstream.
