10 Things Captain America: Civil War Will Have To Change From The Comic

1. Tony Stark, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

What Happens In The Comics: While Steve Rogers was the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. at Civil War's opening, his refusal to go along with the Registration Act meant that he was quickly replaced by Tony Stark. Unlike his friend and team-mate, Tony was willing to do things that Steve simply wasn't. When the storyline came to an end, Stark remained the head of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Why It Won't Work In The Film: From what's known about Tony Stark, it seems unlikely that he would be willing to take on the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. leader. Stark proved in Age Of Ultron that he was willing to do things that no one else was when he created Ultron as a means of defending the world regardless of how it might effect civil liberties. However, the character is still largely in his happy-go-lucky playboy days. Yes, Stark has matured significantly since his first outing in Iron Man, but the fact that he leaves the team at the end of the film to live his own life with Pepper Pots makes it seem like he's still too invested in his own happiness to give it all up to run a government agency. That S.H.I.E.L.D. in its comic form doesn't currently exist further lessens the chances of this happening. Do any other parts of Civil War need altering for the film? With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
