10 Things DC Fans Don't Want To Accept About The DC Extended Universe

4. DC Still Has No Plan

The release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice marked something of a turning point for the DCEU, with characters who had previously existed only in their own franchises brought into the same world. From there, a "cinematic universe" was born, but not one that ever really had much thought devoted to it (or that made sense in terms of continuity).

Events have never really lined up as well as they do in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and over the past few years, Warner Bros. has pretty much given up on continuity.

Now, The Batman will take place in a world separate to the DCEU, while Warner Bros./New Line PR reps are reaching out to sites to ensure they don't refer to Black Adam as a Shazam! "spinoff." Instead, they would rather it be known as a standalone feature, and that tells you all you need to know.

So, despite an impressive enough slate that include sequel/reboot The Suicide Squad and the Multiverse-spanning The Flash, it's clear there's still no plan in place and the crossovers and events fans are hoping and praying for... well, they're not gonna happen.
