10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About Star Wars

With a universe this big, it's no surprise there's some misinformation!

Let's say you've gone on a search across the globe, checking under rocks and in caves, trying to find the most remote hermit in the world. When you finally stumble across them, you might ask, "have you heard of Star Wars?", thinking they'll not have a clue. But, they would probably clap back with, "Of course I have; it's Star Wars!"

Hyperbole aside, there's no denying that this movie franchise transcended geekdom and simply became part of culture itself. What started as an ahead-of-its time space western, has turned into one of the most recognisable brands on Earth.

Star Wars is constantly churning out new projects left, right and centre, and with a comfortable place under the umbrella of the behemoth-like Disney, that doesn't look set to change for a long time.

With a reach as far as that, it's no wonder that little tidbits and factoids about the series have become universal knowledge. But, that fame has also brought plenty of misinformation, leading to many "well-known" facts being totally misunderstood.

So, it's time to blast some of those mistakes away with a thermal detonator - figuratively speaking.

10. The Ewoks Are Friendly Little Teddy Bears

Yes, Ewoks are incredibly cute - adorable, even - but so are bears, honey badgers, and daresay even Wookies; that doesn't mean they aren't going to try and rip you to shreds if given a chance.

The general consensus on these little fellas is that they are the sweet, helpful and friendly type. But, that conclusion ignores plenty of warning signs given in Return of the Jedi. Assuming the best from these creatures completely forgoes that they are dangerous warriors with a penchant for devouring any meat they come across. Let's not forget that the first thing they tried to do with Luke, Han, and Chewie was eat them.

Their more dangerous nature isn't even hidden - it's right there on the surface. If you look around the ensemble of these Endor Moon inhabitants, you'll see that plenty of them have adorned themselves with skulls and bones, using them for primitive tools and even decoration.

They are indeed cute. But, what kind of friendly creatures kill, skin and keep the trophies of those they have defeated? Simply put, the Ewoks are deadly, which is why those Stormtroopers never stood a chance.
