With filming officially beginning on Marvel’s untitled third Spider-Man film, fans have already began hypothesising about the future instalment. It is one of the most highly anticipated movies coming in Phase 4 of the MCU as Spider-Man will hopefully take a larger role in the Avengers line-up.

Ever since Spider-Man 3 was confirmed, countless fan theories and ideas have been floating through the internet. The shocking and unexpected post credit scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home left fans questioning Peter Parker's future and the impacts it would have on the wider MCU.

Peter Parker is now outed as the wall crawler, and has been framed for the murder of Quentin Blake, aka Mysterio. How will Peter cope with his secret identity revealed? Will he clear his name or try and cover it up? Will any other heroes help him out? A lot of questions were raised that fans have been waiting to be answered.

Though there has been casting news, a lot of the movie is still a mystery and the potential for everything that Marvel can include is leading fans to come up with their own theories that could come true...

10. A New Mentor For Spider-Man

Iron Man being integral in bringing Spider-Man into the Avengers was a surprise but welcome way of introducing him into the MCU. Having a hero mentor for Peter to look up to made his story through Homecoming even more endearing.

But with Stark now out of the picture, Spider-Man is without his hero guru, and fans have wondered who will step into this mantle. Recently, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange has been revealed to be appearing in Spider-Man 3 so fans have wondered if he will take Iron Man’s place, especially after their interactions in Avengers: Infinity War.

Despite Spider-Man being a solid hero in his own right, a teenage superhero needs a mentor to coach him into taking a larger role in a future Avengers team. Other heroes that work well as Spidey’s teacher would possibly be War Machine or Nick Fury taking a more significant role than in Far From Home.

Fans do not yet know the extent of Doctor Strange’s involvement but there is still plenty of time for new castings to be announced.
