10 Things In Horror Movies That Just Aren't Scary Anymore

This one is a little more vague in its usage but has been prominent in horror movies since the days of Charles Manson and James Warren Jones. The idea that a secret cult of devil worshippers lives in every neighbourhood and is just waiting for some young couple who just moved into town to fall asleep with their window cracked open.

Alongside this cult comes the token occult imagery like pentagrams and upside down crosses, maybe a goat head thrown in somewhere for good measure, and always a Mansonesque figure leading the charge against home owners associations everywhere.

The worst offender out of all of these would have to be the countless 'rituals' we're forced to sit through that all contain the same three things: a woman, an animal sacrifice, and a giant burning symbol in the middle of a field. It's just boring and uninteresting at this point.
