9. Audiences Want Hopeful Heroes

Wonder Woman's characterisation is one of the main reasons the movie works so well: her combination of naivete and optimistic faith in humanity makes her an endearing, humanised figure, and more in line with what Superman's portrayal should've been in the DCEU up to this point.

Hopefully Diana's hope will rub off on her Justice League teammates, because if they end up being mopey and depressed as in prior movies, it's going to be one huge step back for the franchise.

Nobody's saying Aquaman needs to be as nice and virtuous as Wonder Woman, but he just needs to not be a miserable sad sack, that's for sure.
