10 Things We Learned From The Super Bowl Trailers

1. The Dinobots Look Awesome (Transformers: Age Of Extinction)

Say what you will about Michael Bay and the Transformers franchise, this was easily the most anticipated Super Bowl trailer, given that we hadn't seen a single second of footage from the movie until this point, and Bay certainly delivered. It's got vehicular destruction, giant robots flying around, slow-motion running away from explosives, and Mark Wahlberg, who seems to fit into Bay's universe as effortlessly as we had expected. And there's a Transformer parachuting through the air, firing dual machine guns, so that's pretty cool. And then there's the icing on the cake, a shot of Optimus Prime riding on top of the Dinobot Grimlock like the great war general he is, and then they destroy a giant wall just because. As much as my smarter instincts tell me this film's going to be more mindless Bayhem, as long as he cuts down on the nonsense characters and plot, I can't help but be excited for this one. On the plus side, Sam Witwicky's parents will be nowhere near it, so that's good. Are there any big Super Bowl trailer observations I missed? Let me know in the comments!
