10 Things We Learned From The Super Bowl Trailers

2. Somebody Important Dies (Captain America: The Winter Soldier)

It's a Marvel movie, so there's always a good chance a likeable supporting character is going to get killed (thanks, Joss Whedon), but this has been made pretty explicitly clear in the new Super Bowl trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Amid all the mayhem we behold is a brief glimpse of a devastated Black Widow mourning a corpse draped in a sheet, as Cap looks on. As Maria Hill stands in the background, we can safely assume it's probably a S.H.I.E.L.D. employee, and going by the body type, it's clearly a man. So, who could it be? The Internet has been abuzz ever since the promo first aired, and the most popular guesses seem to move towards Nick Fury (unlikely considering he's signed on for Avengers: Age of Ultron), Hawkeye (again, unlikely for the same reason), Anthony Mackie's Falcon, Frank Grillo's Brock Rumlow (leading to him returning as Crossbones), or Robert Redford's S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Alexander Pierce (my personal pick). We can study the shape of that sheet for the next 2 months, but we'll only know for sure when the film hits cinemas.
