10 Things That Would Make You Excited For DC’s Cinematic Universe

10. Using All Of Their Properties

Marvel€™s rights are extremely broken up - Fox owns the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man is owned by Sony, and the MCU characters are owned by Marvel themselves. This limits what each studio can do with their properties - this is why we will see a different version of Quicksilver next year in Age of Ultron to the one we saw in Days of Future Past. DC are owned entirely by Warner Brothers, so they do not suffer from this problem at all. They own their rights, and this means that your favourite JLA storylines, obscure characters and crossovers are entirely possible. DC€™s Cinematic Universe has very few barriers that could impede it from being wider and more immersive than Marvel€™s present big screen extravaganza. The fact that the same studio own these rights means that there will be shared overlap and a unifying tone to them. We also won€™t be over-saturated in the box office by DC films - this year we had Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and X-Men: Days of Future Past all competing with each other. DC will simply not have this problem of competing studios, and it will allow them to concentrate on making each film exceptional.
