2. Too Many Characters

Avengers: Endgame's "Portals" scene with pretty much every hero ever racing into battle was epic, and like a comic book splash page come to life. However, at this point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's history, it doesn't seem unfair to say that there are simply too many characters.

That's evident from the fact that key heroes are having to be shelves for a number of years because there are now so many franchises. Even with three, or sometimes four, movies a year, Captain Marvel 2 is unlikely to be released until at least four or five years since the last instalment, while Doctor Strange also won't have had a solo adventure for six years by the time fans next see him in action!

The only reason Spider-Man swings back on to the big screen every two years is because Sony Pictures is responsible for distributing the wall-crawler's films.

Leads are becoming supporting players, while other key characters are getting their own TV shows just so their stories can continue. It's all a bit much, and that leads nicely into this piece's final point...
