10 Things MCU Fans Found Too Distracting

Of the six movies that make up the MCU’s first phase, there are two that stand out far and above the rest. The Avengers was the first great crossover of the MCU, a movie that without its success the franchise would not have continued, but the same could be said even more so of Iron Man.

After the game-changing 2008 movie that introduced Robert Downey Jr. as the perfect casting of Tony Stark, Iron Man’s solo franchise took something of a downturn. To many fans, one of the worst moments of the entire MCU, let alone the Iron Man franchise itself, was the reveal of Trevor Slattery.

It is a now infamous moment, when the terrifying Mandarin played so brilliantly by Ben Kinglsey is revealed to be nothing more than a junkie actor from Liverpool, though Slattery himself is also played brilliantly by Ben Kingsley.

This however, was seen by many as an insult to a classic character, and to the fans themselves. Iron Man 3 in general actually isn’t as bad a movie as most would remember, but when was the last time anyone spoke about it and didn’t start with this scene? It has long been the most divisive moment in the entire history of the MCU… until recently.
