8. Unleashing Faceless Armies

Avengers: Endgame eventually saw the coming together of unquestionably the most star-studded, stacked superhero army ever assembled on the big-screen. And who were they coming up against during their battle over the future of the universe? The Mad Titan, Hulk-battering, Infinity Stone-collecting Thanos... and thousands of expendable faceless alien soldiers.

Admittedly, seeing Spider-Man, Captain America and co. take out many a chitauri and outrider goon is always a somewhat satisfying watch. But after you've seen your heroes best a sea of forgettable minions once, it does become increasingly difficult to get truly fired up at the sight of them once again overcoming wave after wave of cannon fodder.

In contrast, what made the conclusion of the likes of Captain America: Civil War and Guardians of the Galaxy so compelling and memorable was the fact that there wasn't a bland villainous army to cut through with ease in sight.

Instead, those MCU outings opted for either a deeply emotional battle between a collection of characters fans had deeply connected to in the build-up or a completely original dance-off-turned-family-unites climax.

More of that and less of the done-to-death CGI goober forces going forward, please.
