One thing that Marvel have really failed to deliver on is killing off major characters. Although it's somewhat understandable, due to the current popularity of most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, it's about time they had the guts to kill one off. The "he/she isn't really dead" theme is becoming quite tiresome - Thor, Loki, Phil Coulson, Nick Fury and Pepper Potts are just some of the characters who have seemingly been killed off, only to be brought back to life or reveal themselves as being alive later on, and that has to change. Marvel need to bite the bullet and sacrifice a major player because the dramatic effect of these non-deaths is becoming less and less impactful and it almost feels as though every major character is safe before any respective movie even starts. The "edge of your seat" element is currently completely lost thanks to this - and that's a shame because it's part of what makes a great movie great.
