10 Things You Need To Know About X-Men: Apocalypse

5. Apocalypse Is Probably Going To Be The Villain

Remember that guy we glimpsed during the post-credits sequence of Days of Future Past? Uh-huh. All right, so whereas X-Men fans were bound to know that the "Apocalypse" of the movie's subtitle wasn't referring to an armageddon of any sort, but a character, casual fans of the franchise probably weren't. So yes: Apocalypse is a character from the X-Men comics - one who we believe will be making his debut in the eight installment. And said appearance directly links in with Bryan Singer's comments on "mutant origins." Why? Well, because Apocalypse was - for all intents and purposes - the first ever mutant. When you consider the fact that time travel is totally a thing now in the X-Men Universe, then, it seems entirely plausible to suggest that somehow our heroes will wind up in the past with regards to a plot featuring this character - either that, or he'll wind up in the present somehow. By the way: this guy is a huge supervillain.
