10 Things Nobody Wants Admit About The Amazing Spider-Man Films
4. They Featured Peter's Best Live-Action Love Story
Say what you will about the poorly predictable way it all ended for Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, but there is absolutely no denying the fact that they made one heck of a great couple. In fact, your writer here would go as far as to say that this has been, without a doubt, Peter's best on-screen romance thus far.
Thanks in no small part to the unbelievable chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, it was pretty easy to find yourself for rooting for the two of them in The Amazing Spider-Man. They seamlessly clicked together and provided the film with many of its standout moments. Moreover, Gwen didn't fall victim to any damsel-in-distress tropes because she was portrayed as a strong character in her own right - one of the many reasons why the second film's climax is so frustrating.
It looked like the first film was set to buck the odds and make Peter and Gwen endgame instead, and while that isn't an approach that always works, it would have worked perfectly here because these two were absolutely intoxicating to watch.
