2. They Captured Peter Parker Better Than Other Spider-Man Movies
One of the things that fans love about Peter Parker is his inherent nerdiness. Peter is a nerd through and through, and while we've seen that portrayed on-screen through multiple aspects of both Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland's iterations, it still feels like the version we saw in The Amazing Spider-Man captured the essence of the character better than the other franchises.
For starters, Peter loves science. It's one of things that makes him such an efficient hero but it's also something that we don't see enough on the screen. Though his passion has played a part in other interpretations, it's only the Marc Webb version that truly showcases this, as his knowledge of the subject allows him to understand his own abilities, accidentally create the Lizard and ultimately come up with a solution to stop the creature's plan to turn New York into a city of mutated monsters.
Moreover, there's a social awkwardness about him that walks the line between shy and overconfident that just feels so undeniably true to the Peter Parker we know and love. And a lot of that was down to Andrew Garfield's convincing portrayal.
