10 Things That Could Save Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

7. Robin Should Already Be Dead

After the travesty of Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin film, Christopher Nolan frequently claimed fans would never see the character of Robin in his Dark Knight trilogy, so the final scenes of The Dark Knight Rises surprised fans when police officer John Blake revealed his legal name is Robin. Fans hoping that Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character would one day adopt the mantle of Batman or even Nightwing are likely to be disappointed as Nolan's films are not actually linked with the new DC cinematic universe. Robin is an iconic character who deserves respect, but this doesn't mean that Snyder's team should reinterpret the sidekick for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. An appearance from the Boy Wonder would detract from the central relationship between Batman and Superman that will presumably form the core of the movie and Snyder already has a lot on his hands with the numerous heroes confirmed for cameo appearances. More on that later... Studio representatives have confirmed that Ben Affleck's version of Batman is older than previous incarnations of the character and the aforementioned references to the Dark Knight Returns story line suggest that this Batman will be coming out of retirement to face off against the Man of Steel. Killing Robin off in a harrowing flashback sequence set before the events of the film would provide the perfect reason for Bruce Wayne to retire in the first place, while also paying homage to the classic fan favorite story line A Death In The Family, where Jason Todd died back in the late 1980's.
