10 Things That Could Save Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

5. Include A Good Villain For Batman

Every superhero is ultimately defined by the enemies they face and no one has a stronger rogues gallery than Batman, yet so far, Luthor is the only villain confirmed to appear in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Films like Spider-Man 3 proved that too many antagonists can cripple the plot of a blockbuster movie, but it seems unlikely that Snyder would release a Batman film without even a passing nod to one of his iconic enemies. Whether one of Batman's rogues appears in a small cameo role or surprises audiences with a larger part, there are two ways the scriptwriters could approach this. The first option is to choose a brand new villain never seen before on the big screen, as this would help set Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice apart from previous Batman continuities established by other film makers. The problem here is that many of the Dark Knight's most iconic enemies have already been used before, but there are still some interesting choices which could be used, including Clayface, Harley Quinn and Killer Croc, all of whom have become popular recently in the video games. Alternatively, the screenwriters could re-imagine one of the iconic villains already used in a previous film. After being mistreated in the past, fan favorites such as Poison Ivy and Mr Freeze would be good candidates as both deserve another shot on the big screen. A smaller appearance in this movie could test the waters and if audiences respond well, one of these classic rogues could then be given another chance to take Batman on in a larger role. There's a wealth of incredible material to draw upon for both of these characters, which could repair the damage done by Joel Schumacher's interpretation of these villains.
