10 Things That Must Happen In MCU Phase 3
3. Thanos Kills Captain America
After Captain America surprisingly evaded his expected demise in Civil War, what a kicker it would be for Marvel Studios to once again subvert expectations by having Thanos kill him at the conclusion of Infinity War Part 1.
This would serve several dramatic functions, namely establishing how powerful Thanos is and likely giving Tony Stark plenty to reflect on regarding his likely still-fractured relationship with Steve.
How Likely Is It?: It definitely could happen, as it would set up a killer return sequence in Part 2 when he's inevitably resurrected, though considering that the MCU already has a pesky stakes problem when it comes to killing off heroes, playing fast and loose with life and death might be too risky.
We'll go with cautious optimism for this one: it would make a lot of sense story-wise, but that doesn't mean they'll do it. 6/10
