10 Things That NEED To Happen In Upcoming Movie Sequels

6. The Franchise Gets A Concrete Ending - Indiana Jones 5

According to Disney themselves, the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones will reportedly be the final entry into Harrison Ford's action-adventure franchise, but as we should all know by now, a Hollywood executive's word is as good as dirt.

It's easy enough to believe that this will indeed be Harrison Ford's final outing as Indy given his age - he turns 80 this summer - but can Disney really resist the temptation not to end the movie by baiting another sequel or spin-off?

The Indiana Jones IP is so iconic and lucrative that it's difficult to believe Disney would truly let the buck stop here, and so if this is genuinely the final ever Indy movie, it needs to wrap up pretty damn definitively.

That doesn't mean Indy needs to die - and honestly, that would probably be a poor choice - but it does mean he needs to formally retire from the gig and the film conclude without even hinting that a fellow adventurer could inherit his whip and fedora.

This isn't to say that Disney couldn't eventually make another Young Indiana Jones series for Disney+, but giving Indy's story a hard stop without any son, daughter, cousin, or good friend continuing his legacy would be refreshing in this era of relentless sequels, reboots, and "reimaginings."
