10 Things To Expect From Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4
1. The MCU's First Critical Dud
And finally, it's the one inevitability of the MCU that's long been looming, yet after fifteen movies to date, they've impressively managed to keep it at bay: critical failure.
The MCU is such a carefully controlled and calibrated machine that their movies generally end up scoring positive reviews thanks to charismatic performances, a light tone and fun action sequences, but sooner rather than later, there will be a movie that falls short of that standard.
It may not signal an overall bursting of the bubble, but as critics become more and more familiar with the MCU formula, the likelihood of them getting fed up with a low-effort movie increases.
With Phase 4 likely to have 10-12 movies, there's a pretty strong chance at least one of them will drop south of 60% on the Tomatometer. It'll be a watershed moment for the series, though time will tell whether it merely ends up being a blip or a wider indication of "superhero fatigue."
