EA’s Battlefront reboot was a resounding success, in terms of faithfully capturing the sights and sounds of the original Star Wars trilogy. But fans weren’t too happy with some of the glaring omissions made by DICE’s team, particularly the lack of a dedicated single player campaign, tactical space combat, Galactic Conquest, and features from both the Clone Wars era and The Force Awakens.

A statement made by the Battlefront team seems to suggest that some of these elements may be implemented in the game’s sequel, and EA CEO Andrew Wilson has confirmed that Battlefront II will be "even bigger, taking players into more locations and allowing them to play with more heroes and characters across multiple Star Wars eras.”

With EA on hand to address the future of Star Wars gaming at Celebration Orlando, Battlefront II will be at the top of people’s must-see list. It’s unlikely that we’ll get a great deal of info on the game, but even a simple confirmation of a campaign wouldn’t go amiss.

Expectations for the sequel will be pretty high, but it seems as though DICE is at least aware of people’s problems with Battlefront.
