9. An Underpowered Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange's imminent arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a highly exciting prospect - and the idea that an actor of the calibre of Joaquin Phoenix is close to signing on to portray the Earth-based sorcerer is even more exciting - but we can't help thinking that his powers are going to be watered down to a disappointing extent. Magic has been pretty poor so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - we've really only been shown things like basic illusion casting by Loki, despite the fact that Loki has so much more in his mystic arsenal in the comic books - and we see no reason why Doctor Strange will be any more powerful than Loki. We want to see the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak, demon summoning, forcefield erection, teleportation, flight and astral projection. What we'll probably get is energy blasts and some telekinetic powers - and that's a shame.
