10 Things We Don't Want To See In The Marvel Cinematic Universe
3. A New Iron Man
Robert Downey, Jr. only has a couple of movies left on his Marvel contract and, as such, will be retiring from his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man sooner rather than later. But we don't believe that will be the end of the Iron Man character by any stretch of the imagination. The character and concept has simply become too popular for Marvel Studios to scrap it entirely, so the likelihood is that either James "Rhodey" Rhodes - the character who has so far portrayed both War Machine and Iron Patriot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - or a youngster (perhaps a long-lost son of Stark's or Harley from Iron Man 3 - the latter of whom was something of an inventor himself) will take over the role. There are so many other great unused heroes from the comic books that could be used instead of Iron Man once Downey, Jr. has gone, it wouldn't be great to recycle the character with a new actor using the same name.
