10 Things We Don't Want To See In The Marvel Cinematic Universe
2. An Underpowered Thanos
So many of the villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date have been disappointing in terms of how powerful they are. Loki, Malekith, the Chitauri and even Ronan to an extent were nowhere near as powerful or as versatile as their comic book counterparts. One villain who really can't afford to be portrayed an anything other than incredibly powerful, however, is Thanos - but the fact is he probably will be. Thanos will have been built-up for several years by the time he truly shows what he can do in the third Avengers movie and, as a result, the build-up needs to be proven to have been worthwhile. In the comics, Thanos is super-strong and super-durable - to the extent that he dwarfs the physical statistics of the likes of the Hulk - and he also possesses a host of esoteric powers and abilities like energy blasts and manipulation, teleportation, telepathy, telekinesis, matter manipulation and a genius intellect, so we really hope he isn't just a super-strong brick in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That said, he probably will be, and that will be a massive shame.
