Joe Rogan is famed for being the voice of the UFC. So, his podcast's tend to always involve some mention of the MMA world and true to form, so did this one.

Downey openly confessed to still practising How Wing Chun and spoke openly about his love of MMA throughout the podcast.

At one point in particular, Downey spoke about the upcoming Conor McGregor Vs Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone fight at UFC 246 and admitted that - while he probably wouldn't be in attendance - he'd definitely be watching.

He then waxed about how both of these stars were 'two brilliant souls, who cannot lose' and himself and Rogan luxuriated in the narrative of the 'poster boy' taking on the 'journeyman'.

His interest in MMA serves as a reminder of just how important the art was in saving himself from his demons at a younger age and how the form he practised gave him the focus and routine necessary to become the man we know and love today.
