10 Things We Learned From This Year's Super Bowl Trailers

2. Deadpool Looks Like It Will Live Up To The Hype

The marketing campaign for Deadpool has been absolutely brilliant, and with the first wave of reviews almost all exceptionally positive, anticipation is now at an all-time high for the R-Rated X-Men spinoff. As expected, the Super Bowl TV spot for the movie finds a way of making some pretty hilarious digs at footballers ("I always wanted to be a professional athlete because I wanted to have children in cities all over the world"), but the new action scenes make it clear that despite the lower budget which helped Deadpool avoid being a PG-13 summer blockbuster, it's really going to deliver as a large scale superhero movie. With VFX whiz Tim Miller at the helm, perhaps that shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, and the effects here look every bit as good as those seen in the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer. With just days to go until Deadpool hits the big screen, it remains to be seen if moviegoers embrace the Merc with the Mouth, but it certainly has all the makings of a hit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JcaAlQbEwU
