The Norse crew have been, quite literally, lighting up the MCU for over a decade now. With immaculate world building, intriguing origins, and eye-watering (albeit at times over-the-top) visuals, Asgard has delivered some of the most memorable scenes ever witnessed on Marvel films. Now, it is time for another group of famous entities to join the mix.

At one point in the Love and Thunder trailer, we can see what appears to be a golden bolt of lightning fly into the hands of a man. The person in question was none other than Russel Crowe, or as he will be called here, Zeus.

Compared to the Norse, the Greek pantheon may not be quite as influential in mainstream Marvel lore, mainly because of Thor’s popularity. But introducing a being as powerful as Zeus can only mean that something of planetary proportions is about to go down.

Judging by his demeanor here, it might be safe to presume his character will somewhat resemble Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster. It will be interesting to see what he can do once he decides to get serious.
