10 Things We Want To See In Peter Jackson's Upcoming Beatles Documentary

9. Extended Jams

It has been well documented that this record was an attempt to bring the band back to their roots. From the no-nonsense cover to the more bluesy delivery of some of the material, the original idea seemed to be to get the band in tune with the old rock music that made them want to pick up a guitar in the first place.

Aside from the great ballads and straightforward rockers, the band were known to play freeform jams that were basically sketches for potential songs. Though none of these jams officially made the cut for the album, songs like "Dig It" and the old standard "Maggie Mae" showed the kind of headspace the band were in at the time.

Though we may have the snippets on CD, it would be interesting to see the band working it out in the studio, with each member riffing and trying to put a unique spin on these song ideas. There even exists a demo containing parts of songs such as the standard "Save the Last Dance," which would be incredible to see in a more subdued studio environment. While most of the band's previous works featured meticulous recording techniques, this could show the band as the lean mean rock band they had started as.
