10 Things We Want To See In Peter Jackson's Upcoming Beatles Documentary

8. Billy Preston Appearance

There's no disputing that the Beatles were not on the best of terms when going into the studio for the Get Back/Let It Be project. The animosity that the band had during this era was so tense that some guest musicians were brought in to break up the montonous griping that was happening every day.

It has be known that Billy Preston was the keyboardist who played on "Get Back," but his connection to the Beatles' legacy tends to get sidestepped as just being a session player on a record. Preston was a true musical phenomenon in his prime, with collaborations with everyone from Little Richard to the great Ray Charles.

It's not like anyone at Apple had any reservations with Preston being involved in the project. Every one of the Beatles always had great things to say about Preston and how his easy-going energy gave the band a shot in the arm in their later years. While it is a Beatles movie in name, the inclusion of Billy Preston seems essential given how much of a presence he had during this gloomy period for the group. There's no getting around some of the more tense scenes that the band underwent in those days, but Billy Preston's appearance would be a great way to ease the tension on both the band and the audience.
