10 Things You Can Expect From Ben Affleck's Batman Movie

1. Gotham As A Character

Ben Affleck has always brought a keen sense of place to his films. In Gone Baby Gone and The Town, it's Affleck's home town of Boston and its sad, sleazy psychosphere that dominates, while in Argo Affleck conjures up unique, palpable atmospheres for sunny and carefree Hollywood, straight-laced and secretive Washington, and volatile, balmy Tehran. If Affleck directs The Batman, audiences could be in for a Bat-film that insists on building up Gotham as its own character. While Christopher Nolan's Gotham was largely the sum of Nolan's influences (Heat and the novel A Tale Of Two Cities being two prime examples), Affleck would likely take a different approach to environment with The Batman. The look of Affleck's Gotham would probably depend partly on how Snyder portrays it in Batman V Superman, but with Batman only being a co-lead in Dawn Of Justice, Affleck will have more room to construct the city he wants in Batman's first DCCU solo effort. Gotham would, quite literally, be in Affleck's hands for The Batman. What do you think Ben Affleck could bring to The Batman as director? Let us know in the comments below.
