10 Things You Can Expect From Ben Affleck's Batman Movie

3. Solid (If Not Outstanding) Action

Not everything about Batfleck directing The Batman is bound to be perfect. And while Affleck no doubt has a good handle on story, theme, dialogue and performance, what he hasn't shown off yet is a truly great, genuinely blockbuster-worthy action set-piece. Not that Affleck is bad at staging action - The Town's heist scene is one piece of evidence that he can do it - it's just so far he's shown himself to be competent, if not necessarily dynamic and exciting. It could prove an issue with The Batman as, regardless of the direction Affleck takes the film in, Warner Bros. and DC will demand there's still enough action to keep paying customers entertained. Then again, Christopher Nolan had never proven himself in the action field before his Bat-foray, and the Dark Knight trilogy proved you should never underestimate a novice when it comes to shooting scenes of combat. So all there is to do now is hope for the best, that Affleck will step up to the plate and deliver better action on a much bigger budget.
