3. He's Not Just An Actor, He's A Film Director, Too

Though known for his innumerable incredible roles, Alan Rickman isn't just an on-screen talent, but an off-screen talent, too. Specifically, Rickman directed two films over the course of his life.

The first was 1997's The Winter Guest, which stars Phyllida Law and Emma Thompson, and tells the story of a recent Scottish widow who is determined to move to Australia with her son until she's visited by her ageing mother.

His second directorial feature was released much more recently, 2014's A Little Chaos. Unlike The Winter Guest, Rickman has a starring role in A Little Chaos, alongside Kate Winslet and Stanley Tucci. The film tells the story of two landscape artists who fall in love while building a garden in King Louis XIV's Versailles palace.
