Though he didn't star in his first feature length film until 2009, Ehrenreich had been auditioning and bagged a couple television roles before his first big break being directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Incidentally, this was the same year that Ehrenreich founded his own film company.

While studying at New York University, Alden and friend Zoe Worth founded The Collectin, a company focused on creating feature films and producing live theatre. The first film they created was Running Wild, written and directed by Melanie Shaw and starring both of the young founders.

Running Wild tells the story of two friends named Liza and Eli who take a meandering road trip which explores their sexual-tension-laden relationship and the ways in which the two tear each other apart.

Since then, the company has put out multiple other films including Shut Up And Drive, Miss Ellis Island and Ten Fingers.
