5. He Was Very Nearly Harry Osborn
Though most people want to forget about the messy, convoluted experience that was The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Alden Ehrenreich it was very nearly his first brush with an iconic character in a big-budget franchise.
When it came time to cast a new Harry Osborn for the film, Ehrenreich's audition ensured he was down to the final few considerations. What most people don't know is that he also auditioned for the role of Peter Parker in the first Amazing Spider-Man, too.
Unfortunately for Alden, the role of Harry went to Dane DeHaan, but it's possible that being known for playing Harry Osborn in the film that tanked Sony's Spider-Man reboot may have dissuaded Disney from casting him as Han Solo, so it seems that everything worked out well in the end regardless.
