Amanda Seyfried has a fierce look in her eyes that tells you to watch out; she may be adorable, blonde and petite, but there's an undercurrent of danger in every look and glance - one that positions her as somebody who shouldn't be messed with... or underestimated. Most folk first got to know Seyfried when she appeared alongside Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams in the 2005 teen flick Mean Girls, playing the unforgettable sidekick, Karen Smith, a dim-witted member of a bitchy group known as "The Plastics." Thankfully, the success of Mean Girls didn't result in Seyfried being typecast into playing an endless conveyor belt of "pretty but stupid" female roles - good call on that one, Hollywood! In fact, Seyfried downright refuses to be pigeon-holed and has thrived in lots of films across a variety of genres ever since, be they musicals (Mamma Mia, Les Miserables), rom-coms (Dear John), thrillers (Gone) and all the stuff that goes in-between (Lovelace, for example, in which she gave her finest performance to date). There's still a sense that Seyfried is yet to reach her full potential as an actress, though - that somewhere in the next few years she is going to unleash a truly unforgettable performance, leaving audiences stunned and desperate for more. Until that time, she'll keep doing what she does best; bringing a hard and somehow cutesy charm to every role...
