10 Things You Didn’t Know About Benedict Cumberbatch

2. He€™s An Ordained Minister

One of the more charming bromances in recent times is the friendship of X-Men rivals Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen. Professor X and Magneto may not always see eye to eye, but the two venerable pillars of the British acting community are firm friends and there are dozens of pictures of them to provide irrefutable evidence. McKellen also turned officiator when Stewart married jazz singer Sunny Ozell last year, and he€™s not the only celebrity to preside over the marriage of close friends. Benedict Cumberbatch was on hand in Ibiza in July last year when pals Seth Cummings and Rob Rinder held their wedding at the Hacienda Hotel. There was a Sherlock panel taking place at Comic-Con at the same time, but much to the disappointment of his legion of fans Cumberbatch instead opted to do the honours for fellow University of Manchester graduate Rinder. Cumberbatch gladly added another string to his bow, and his comments at the time suggest he may have found a new line of work: €œI do weddings. Next will be children€™s parties and bar mitzvahs.€
