10 Things You Didn’t Know About Benedict Cumberbatch

3. He€™s A Gifted Impressionist

So if you work on The Simpsons and your latest episode requires an appearance by Severus Snape, who do you call? Not Alan Rickman or his agent apparently, but Benedict Cumberbatch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuMQYFDAPyc Rickman€™s famous Harry Potter character made an appearance in last year€™s Simpsons episode Love Is a Many Splintered Thing, and you€™d be hard-pressed to know it wasn€™t Alan Rickman joining the ranks of actors and celebrities who have lent their voices to the iconic show. In fact, it was Cumberbatch who made his bow, doubling up as Snape and voicing a Hugh Grant-esque Prime Minister for Matt Groening, and he has an enviable arsenal of uncannily accurate impersonations in his repertoire. Cumberbatch mimics Chewbacca well enough to make Harrison Ford gawp, he can rattle off pitch-perfect impressions of Gollum and Jar Jar Binks, and has a habit of impersonating hosts like Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton when he appears on their chat shows. Don€™t ask him to say €˜penguins€™ though €“ apparently his verbal dexterity hits a wall when it comes to this relatively straightforward word. Which might make his presswork for the imminent Penguins of Madagascar movie rather interesting.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
