3. Joel Coen And Frances McDormand Fell In Love On Set
McDormand is famous for being one of the Coen’s biggest collaborators (appearing in Fargo, The Man Who Wasn’t There, Burn After Reading, and many more), but she holds possibly a bigger honor in one of the brothers’ lives - she is Joel’s wife.
And, without Blood Simple, this might not have been the case. The two actually met and fell in love on set, and then married a couple of years later.
When discussing what made McDormand fall in love with him, she stated that she was wowed by Joel’s love for literature. “He seduced me with literature.” She said. “We discussed books and drank hot chocolate for several evenings. It was f*ckin’ hot.”
